OPERATION – ROW4VICTORY
Team Row4Victory are four fearless friends from Yorkshire who will be putting their physical and mental strength to the test when they row 3,000 nautical miles across the ocean in aid of the British Legion, in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2018.
The team unites a serving Royal Engineer, an ex-Royal Marine, a civilian and a serving Chief Technician in the Royal Air Force. They will attempt to cross the unrelenting seas and win the 4 man pure class race, smashing the current record. To commemorate 100 years since the end of the Great War the lads are rowing for two awesome military charities, the Royal British Legion and Soldier On!
Described at the ‘World’s toughest endurance race’, team Row4Victory will start the challenge in December 2018 in La Gomera in the Canaries and row 3000 miles to English Harbour in Antigua. To put that in to perspective more people summit Mount Everest every year than have EVER rowed across an ocean. The race could take between 35 and 70 days with the team rowing 2 hour shifts in pairs around the clock. With storms, adverse weather conditions, hunger and sleep deprivation, the team will face the challenge of their lives.

MISSION – ROW4VICTORY
To honour the work the Royal British Legion has done over the 100 years since the end of World War One.
11 November 1918 witnessed the end of World War One, Britain and her allies were victorious! The fighting on the battlefield had ended, however for the families of the fallen and for the 1.75 million injured the war endured. In 1921 the British Legion was founded and has been providing financial, social and emotional support to veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants ever since. In the 100 years since the end of the Great War they have helped us all understand the importance of remembrance so that the sacrifices of our Armed Forces are never forgotten through the annual festival of remembrance and the Poppy Appeal. Through the efforts of the Royal British Legion scores of injured Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen have been helped during their recoveries and with the transition back into civilian life.
