It's been a busy old weekend for the Team this weekend. 0730 Friday morning saw Fraser braving the cold to start his first hour of the day on the Erg and ultimately managed to rack up a healtht 50 plus km rowing 1 hour on 1 hour off for the next 8 hours. Between him the brilliant volunteers from all around RAF Linton on Ouse they managed to amass a total of over 128km rowed and £150 towards the campaign. We would love to give our thanks to all those who came over to offer their support and encouragement when toes, fingers (and bums) started to numb. It was excellent to see the SWO get some miles in and smashing to get a visit from the Station Commander.
Saturday night saw the 4 lads do their first spot of after dinner speaking in the beautiful Merchant Taylor's Hall in York where the they were invited by the guys at the North and East Yorks Branch of the RBL. The prestation seemed to be well received and the team got some really generous pledges from the awesome people in attendance as well as making some new contacts and gaining some really good advice and feedback. Thanks for having us guys and we looking forward to following up with you all soon.
Sunday saw Fraser on Parade in York for the remembrance service and wreath laying and Duncan came along to support and pay his respects. It was an awesomely we'll run parade under the leadership of Mr Mark Sullivan, what an absolute legend. The people of York were out in force and the applause for the parade as we marched back through the city was brilliant and very moving.
The whole weekend was rounded off with another 8 hours rowing in St Helens Square by the whole team. Another 109km rowed and £650 raised with the help of the giving people of York. The generosity didn't end there, with bacon butties from Betty's, coffee and pastys from the guys at Axis Barbers and hot chocolate and risotto from Carlluucio's, we've so well looked after it's been incredible.
We would just like to say a massive THANK YOU!!!!
Team Row4Victory are extremely proud to pronounce our first Gold Sponsor in Nic Marshall of ResQ in Hull. Not a man to shy away from a challenge himself, Nic has ridden from John O'Groats to Land's End, swam the Humber and more recently been up Kilimanjaro to raise funds for a new Cathedral roof. Following a introduction from Sir Gary Verity at the Welcome to Yorkshire stand at this years Great Yorkshire Show Nic was immediately keen to get on board and support us in our campaign. We are hugely proud to call Nic our first Gold Sponsor and we look forward to seeing more of him and the ResQ team throughout our campaign.

We’re upside down with excitement here at Row4Victory!!
Duncan has been handpicked to join Atlantic Allies; a team of elite former military, world record breakers and professional athletes who will set off in early December 2017 (8 weeks time) and row 3800 miles from Portugal to French Guiana with the sole aim of beating the current record of 48 days 4 hours and 30 minutes.
The 4 man team is skippered by Ralph Tuijn; a record-breaking adventurer who is legendary in ocean rowing circles. During his successful Atlantic and Pacific oceans rowing expeditions, he has been run over by a tanker, shipwrecked on a desert island, had his boat struck by lightening and been chased by sharks!
Also on the team is Chris Shirley, a former Royal Marines Officer, now working as a freelance Humanitarian Security Advisor and volunteering for Team Rubicon (TR). TR is an NGO that leverages the unique capabilities of former military, emergency first responders and dedicated civilians to respond to natural disasters, in the most hard to reach parts of the world. Chris will be raising money for this awesome charity and you can follow him at Rowing for Rubicon.
Last but certainly not least we have Danny O’Brien who is a serving soldier In the Irish Air Corps and is based Dublin Ireland. He is a whitewater kayaker who has competed Internationally representing Ireland. With expeditions to remote parts of the world including, Nepal, Norway, Mexico, USA and most of Europe, from 100ft waterfalls to multi day remote jungle expeditions he is extremely comfortable in all water conditions. He has been consistently pushing himself since a young age from Ultra marathons to ocean swimming. He rowed competitively in scull and sweep rowing for several years and after seeing a friend complete the Talisker Whiskey Challenge has been intrigued. After a long preparation to row the Atlantic west to east this year and a last minute cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances he was delighted to get onboard with Ralph, Duncan and Chris.
Duncan will gain invaluable experience on this expedition, with this high calibre team that will no doubt give Row4Victory the upper hand in our attempt to win the TWAC 2018!
Exciting times ahead!
Special thanks to the talented Domonic Garton (@domgarton) for donating his photography skills to the team.
