![]() Please can we ask you all to join us in wishing our man, Duncan 'Ducantronasorous Flex' Roy, the very best of luck with his attempt to smash the Mainland to Mainland world record for crossing the Atlantic Ocean, which currently stands at 48 Days 4 Hours and 30 Minutes. Duncan is in the final stages of preparation and awaiting favourable weather conditions to set off from the start in Portugal on Friday at 12:00 GMT. As part of Team Atlantic Allies he is Joined by Danny O’Brien, Chris Shirley, Neal Marsh and the standing record holder for this route, the legendary Dutch explorer Ralph Tuijn, who will be Skippering the team. We will all take comfort in knowing he will be taking a little piece of Yorkshire with him as they are rowing “Rose”, the very boat that the awesome Yorkshire Rows ladies set their own World Record in a couple of years ago in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. You two take care of each other! You can follow Dunc and the team on their TravelMap tracker at https://rowingroy.com/our-progress/ as they row the 3800 miles from Ferragudo in Portugal to the finish in French Guiana. In keeping with the Row4Victory 2018 campaign, Duncan is dedicating his efforts this year to the Royal British Legion as well, you can support them and help to encourage Duncan to dig deep when the going gets tough by donating at https://www.justgiving.com/rowingroy. Good luck Duncan and all the guys on Team Atlantic Allies, here’s wishing you fair winds and following seas, you’ll smash this!
